“I wanted to take a few minutes of your time to share with you how important the Tenant PI program has become to our agency. The information is easy to access and the time is minimal checking history on our applicants. We have been using the program for approximately two years and have been surprised at the applicants who failed to include previous housing in other assistance programs on their applications. The sharing of this information has, in turn, resulted in a few applicants paying debts owed to other agencies and a few paying us when their application was checked at another agency using the Tenant PI program. Surprisingly, a few applicants failed to include previous housing, and when we did a follow-up after finding them in the program, they received very good references from the other agencies.

I realize no plan is foolproof, and we will always house applicants who owe other agencies or do not qualify because of their tenant history, but Tenant PI is an extremely valuable tool in the initial qualifying step to assisted housing.
